Project Manager

Orange County, CA - November 17, 2017

The Project Manager’s primary job duties include consulting with clients and staff regarding all phases of a project including planning, pre-design, design, bidding, construction, and post-construction. The Manager is responsible to provide a professional service to our client within industry standards of care and to mentor others in the company to preform our services.


  • Review and analyze data pertaining to design consultants, using experience in the construction and project management industries, to develop conclusions and recommendations and present to client
  • Review and analyze data and (if applicable) bid information regarding contractors on behalf of client and make recommendations regarding cost and quality of work
  • Provide cost estimating services as necessary (independently or as part of complete project)
  • Consult with client regarding quality and/or cost of subcontractors the general contractor is considering and make recommendations regarding best approach and/or bid
  • Provide training to Assistant Project Managers as necessary
  • Initiate, coordinate and manage staff, consultants, contractors and other personnel associated with an assigned project on behalf of Abacus


  • Technical expertise in all project areas, including, but not limited to, planning, pre-design, design, bid and award, construction and post-construction phases
  • Extensive experience working in the construction industry and, specifically, with project/construction management and/or owners representative
  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in project management, construction management, or a related field
  • Relevant experience with higher education construction, such as student centers, housing, classrooms, ADA upgrades and more


  • Experience 4+ years and/or education in engineering, architecture, construction management, other technical degree and/or experience
  • Membership and/or participation in local trade unions, such as Construction Management Association of America, Project Management Institute, Urban Land Institute, etc.
  • Lives in or near Orange County, California
