Description of the project
The university engaged Abacus to serve as their project management consultant during the project. Abacus provided an on-site project manager who served as an extension of the NAU planning & development staff. Abacus was responsible for coordination and oversight of the many diverse activities associated with this project on a day-today basis.
The project entailed construction of a conference center and a 3-story, 450-car parking facility located on the north end of the campus. The conference center includes the latest state-of-the-art audio-visual technology as well as large and small conference room spaces with operable partitions for flexibility in accommodating a variety of events. A full service kitchen facility serves the food preparation needs of the conference facility making this a desirable conference location for the marketplace.
In addition to the conference center and the parking facility, the site is home to a 158-room hotel featuring both traditional rooms and suites. The hotel facility is operated by Drury Inns.
