Town of Marana - Police Facility Project Update

03 / 01 / 2017

In January 2016, Abacus Project Management was selected by the Town of Marana to provide Project / Construction Management services on their new Police Department Facility. Since then, Abacus has served as an extension of the Town’s staff. We’ve assisted with selection and coordination of the Architectural and Construction Manager at Risk teams that will design and build the facility. Additionally, we’ve helped to facilitate visioning sessions and design charette meetings where key project components / requirements were identified and considered. Abacus’ primary responsibility is to manage scope, schedule and budget on the Town’s behalf to make sure their facility needs are met and the project budget and schedule are consistently aligned throughout the entire process.

The new building will be located on the campus of the Marana Municipal Complex, adjacent to the existing administration building. It will be a two-story building totaling approximately 45,000 square feet and will include expanded training facilities, improved security, new K-9 amenities, larger administrative and record storage components and an inclusive community room. Completion of the $18M facility is expected by summer 2018. Future expansion has also been integrated into the facility’s design for Property & Evidence and other Police Operations as needed.

Abacus specializes in providing Program / Project and Construction Management Services with highly qualified teams located throughout the Southwestern United States. Our work for the Town of Marana on the Police Department Facility to date has been inspiring and rewarding due to the commitment Police make to their Communities on a daily basis. We look forward to expanding our expertise on Police Facilities as we move into construction and project completion.
