10 / 07 / 2016

Chapman University, Pfeiffer Partners, McCarthy and Abacus’ key team members attended the ENR California Best Projects event held on October 4, 2016 at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Los Angeles Downtown. The team was awarded a 2016 ENR Cultural/Worship Award of Merit, Southern California for Chapman University’s Musco Center for the Arts located in Orange. All the entries were evaluated and awards were given based on the ability of the project team to overcome challenges, contribution to the industry and community, safety and construction and design quality. This new building was commissioned by Chapman University to be a performance space for students to perform both symphony and theatrical performances; the design phase began in 2009 and construction was completed in 2016. The building was designed by renowned architects Pfeiffer Partners, with acoustics by world renowned Yasuhisa Toyota of Nagata Acoustics. The Musco Center boasts multipurpose proscenium-style theater. We are grateful to be included among other recognized and prestigious projects as a 2016 best award winner in our state.
