ABACUS was selected to work on the Arizona State School Facilities Board $1.2 billion deficiency corrections program. This was a program that served school districts statewide, providing additions and renovations on over 1,200 school buildings. ABACUS was one of several project management firms hired to manage this large-scale program. The scope of work included 580 projects at 132 schools within 20 school districts throughout the greater Phoenix area. Major projects included a new jr. high school for Globe Unified School District, a new elementary school for Miami Unified School District, replacement school for Paradise Valley Unified School District, building replacement projects for Cartwright School District and Superior Unified School District and a new gymnasium at Apache Junction High School. Additional projects included roofing repair/replacement, HVAC upgrades, lighting, flooring, nurses office renovations, drainage, parking, locker rooms, ADA compliance issues and other various smaller renovations/upgrades.
