Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust is a private independent foundation dedicated to honoring Virginia Galvin Piper’s philanthropic commitment to changing lives and strengthening community in Maricopa County (Arizona). Virginia was the wife to Paul Galvin, the founder of Motorola. Having just purchased an existing office building, the VGP Trust hired ABACUS to provide Construction Management services for this major building renovation project. The existing structure was a 2-story, 17,372 square foot office building with one level of below grade parking. All interior partitions were removed, leaving only the exterior walls, load bearing walls, structural system and vertical circulation core in place. The remodel included new interior partitions, very high-level finishes, restroom facilities and plumbing fixtures. The project received a new HVAC system, new electrical power distribution system, new lighting system and fixtures as well as a new fire sprinkler system. The building is equipped with an elevator which received upgraded finishes. The building also received a completely new roofing system and the exterior stucco finish was repaired and repainted and the landscaping was also updated. Construction Value $3.6 million |
